Nick Halstead to make Asian Le Mans debut with Garage 59

The Asian Le Mans Series gets underway next month, with double-header weekends each consisting of 2 x 4hr races, taking place at the Dubai Autodrome followed by the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi.

After a successful season in British GT, finishing on the podium in the opening round, to securing his first ever overall win at Spa-Francorchamps, Nick is set to continue his GT3 campaign by embarking on his debut Asian Le Mans Series with Garage 59. This time last year Garage 59 was busy preparing to race the McLaren 720S GT3 for the first time at the opening round of the Asian Le Mans Series in Dubai. Fast forward 12 months and the team has now earned trophies on 15 occasions with the McLaren, including four race victories and two championship titles. Now Garage 59 returns to the Asian Le Mans Series with a far greater understanding of McLaren’s GT3 challenger.

With a season under his belt behind the wheel of the 720s, Nick is joined by two more incredibly experienced drivers; Mclaren factory driver Rob Bell, and Asian Le Mans regular Louis Prette.

“I’m really looking forward to joining the hugely experienced Garage 59 for my first appearance in the Asian Le Mans Series,” said Halstead. “To race at the iconic tracks of the Dubai Autodrome and Yas Marina Circuit, behind the wheel of the McLaren 720S is a dream come true. With such a competitive grid it’ll be some tough racing, but I’m up for the challenge.” - Nick Halstead
