Rd 10 Brands Hatch GP 7-8 Oct

Qualifying - 27th

Race 1 - 22nd

Race 2 - 20th

Race 3 - 20th

"I’ve been able to learn a huge amount this season and I feel that every weekend, I’ve made gradual improvements in terms of my pace. Over the last two events in particular, I’ve been able to run with the midfield pack and my lap times have been a match for drivers higher up the order, which is something I’m really pleased with when you consider the strength of the BTCC field.

“It’s hard to believe that we’re now heading into the final round of the year and I’d love to be able to sign off this season with some strong results around one of the best circuits in the UK. Having broken into the top 20 on genuine pace at Silverstone, it would be great if I could do the same again this weekend and if I was able to sneak into the points, it would be a fantastic way to end my rookie year."

“The racing tends to be quite robust at Silverstone and there is probably going to be more rough and tumble here than anywhere else. My pace on the shorter circuits this season has been quite good and it’ll be interesting to see how I get on, but I’m feeling confident.

“Although a lot of my experience at Silverstone has been on the full GP circuit, I’ve done plenty of racing on the National layout and I’ve also been watching some past races to help going into the weekend. My aim is to be up in the top 20 and try and push towards the points, although I think it will be tough unless we get some rain.”

“If you take the final race out of the equation, Knockhill was probably my strongest weekend pace wise even after I had to miss both practice sessions, and that has given me a big boost going back to Donington Park.

“The fact we had a productive day of running during the tyre test is also a positive thing, and I’m hoping to maintain the progress I have made in terms of my pace during the weekend ahead.

“I fully expect the addition of the GP loop to mix things up with the additional overtaking opportunities and my goal is to try and push into that top 20 and try and score some more points – which is a real achievement when the grid is as strong as it is.”

“I’m feeling good going into Knockhill as every weekend I get a bit more confident and feel a bit more racy. We tested at the circuit in pre-season which went well, but I think the big factor this weekend could be the weather as there is always the chance of rain at Knockhill.

“That could level the playing field a bit and I’ve always gone well in those conditions, so if we do get rain then I feel it would work in my favour, and help me push to try and get onto terms with the next group ahead of me on track.

“I’ve had some top 20 results this season and would love to get into the points again, but I know it’s only getting harder with some of the mid-season changes to the grid. There are a lot of quick drivers out there, so I have to just knuckle down and push hard over the final four meetings at circuits where I have raced a lot in the past.”

Rd 6 Croft 29-30 July

Qualifying - 26th

Race 1 - 22nd

Race 2 - 22nd

Race 3 - 20th

“With Croft being the only circuit where I’ve previously raced the Hyundai, albeit before the introduction of hybrid, I had something to compare things to when we tested their pre-season and the lap times were encouraging.

“The tyre test was also really positive for me as we tried a few different things with the set-up of the car that worked in my favour, and I hope we are now able to benefit from it when we arrive at Croft.

“The goal is to score some good points in the Jack Sears Trophy and also get closer to the middle pack overall. I’ve shown I have the pace to do that, but my starts have let me down a bit so far and I’ve not been able to benefit from it. It’s something I’ve been working on, and hopefully I can get off the line well in the three races and then fight with the pack.”

Race 2 - 24th

Race 3 - 19th

“Given the progress we made across the weekend at Thruxton, I’m heading to Oulton Park feeling really positive and looking forward to what will hopefully be a strong meeting. Although I’ve not raced there in front-wheel drive before, it’s a circuit I’m really familiar with and one I’ve always enjoyed driving so I want to try and fight for some strong results before the summer break.

“The target is to try and get up into the top 20 across the weekend if I can, and with a few question marks over what the weather might do, there could even be the chance to try and push for some points like we did at Donington Park at the start of the season.”

Rd 4 Thruxton 3-4 June

Qualifying - 27th

Race 1 - NC

Race 2 - 23rd

Race 3 - 22nd

“Although I’ve raced at Thruxton quite a few times when I was in Ginettas, it’s been a few years since my last visit and I’ve never raced there in a front-wheel drive car, so I’ve got a big learning curve ahead of me.

“The key thing for me is to try and have a trouble-free weekend to allow me to maximise my time on track, as that really held me back at Snetterton. Losing track time to some issues on Saturday hampered my chances on race day, as I had good pace by race three but had still been learning in races one and two.

“I just need that time on Saturday to get used to the circuit in these cars and build my pace, and if I’m able to do that, then hopefully I can start the weekend showing the kind of pace I had by the end of the weekend at Snetterton. That will give me something I can then build on across the three races to try and push towards the top 20.”

“I’m adopting a similar approach to last time out, although hopefully I’ll have a better run in qualifying and can go from there. Although I was able to do quite a lot of pre-season testing, most of it was in damp or wet conditions so I’m looking forward to the opportunity to have a whole weekend in the dry to gain more experience.

“Running the different tyres was something that was totally new to me at Brands Hatch, and it will be the same this weekend as I’ve never driven on the hard compound tyre before. It will make strategy quite interesting and will give the whole grid a bit of a random element that I’m sure will provide the fans with plenty of action.”

“I’m really excited for the weekend ahead as the Brands Hatch rounds are always some of the biggest of the year with huge crowds. I’ve done loads of laps around the Indy circuit, but it will be a new challenge in the BTCC as everyone tries to find space in practice and qualifying. It’s going to be intense and I expect it to be a bit chaotic, so we need to try and have a solid day on Saturday and then push for three good results on Sunday.

“In the most difficult conditions at Donington, I was able to battle for my first points finish which gives me a lot of confidence in my driving ability, and the aim this weekend is to go out there and fight for the best results possible.”

“Going into this season, I feel more prepared than I have ever felt on the back of a busy testing programme and I can’t wait for the real action to begin. I’m feeling very confident but at the same time, I know I still have a lot to learn about racing in a series that is as rough and tumble as the BTCC, so I’m not setting myself any big goals.

“When I did my previous outing at Croft, I was using a car that wasn’t mine and had no testing beforehand, so this weekend for me is where I think my BTCC career will really start. The team has done a fantastic job to get the car suited to me and how I want to drive it, and I think that has been reflected in the lap-times I’ve been able to put in during testing.

“We had a good day at Donington Park last week, and now I just want to get started!”
